Spring 2, week 1
Our New Topic: What is life like in other countries?
We started our brand new topic by learning about different countries around the world. We talked about how people travel to other countries and discovered that we need a passport to visit different places! The children were so excited to make their very own passports, ready for our learning adventures across the world.
In Maths, we have been learning about time. We explored just how long 5 minutes feels and challenged ourselves to see what we could do in that amount of time! We discovered we can tidy up, build a tower, draw a picture, and even complete a mini challenge all before the timer stops. The children loved racing against the clock!
During Squiggle While You Wiggle, we practised our mark-making skills. We drew our names carefully and then took our learning outside, where we created wonderful chalk pictures. The children showed great control and creativity with their big, bold drawings!
In RE, we learnt about The Easter Story and talked about why Easter is important to Christians. We discovered why Christians put crosses in an Easter garden and what they represent.
The Owls worked very carefully to make their own beautiful Easter gardens. We were so proud of their thoughtful ideas and creativity.
We were incredibly lucky to be visited by Olympian James Dasaolu as part of Sports for Champions!

He told us all about his journey to becoming an athlete and inspired us to keep trying our best. The Owls absolutely loved completing their circuits and showed fantastic determination and enthusiasm. What a special day!
A huge well done to our Star of the Week, Isobel!
Isobel always tries her very best and has worked exceptionally hard this week. We are so proud of her positive attitude and wonderful effort. Keep shining, Isobel!
Have a lovely weekend
