Spring Term 1 Week 1
Happy New Year!
It is lovely to have all the children back in school and hear about the lovely time you have all had over Christmas and new year.
We have jumped straight back into our learning with a positive attitude from everyone!
Our English this week has focused on winter writing. The children have practised their labelling skills and used adjectives to describe as well as extending sentences using verbs! The children have all written amazing sentences and been able to design their own winter town.

In maths, we have been learning our numbers up to 20. We now know how to use a number line to work out one more and one less, as well as answering number sentences within 20. The children have been practising how to write their teen numbers and recognising the tens and ones in the numbers.
In Geography, our big question is 'How does the weather affect us'. This week we thought about what weather is and what weather we know of. Then the children created title pages for the start of the new topic.
In RE, we focused our learning around friendship. We spoke about this being a Christian Value and thought about our own experiences of being a good friend.

In PE we had our first tag rugby session! We practised throwing and catching a rugby ball as well as moving and placing the ball down to score a try. Yoga will start again next Tuesday!

Thank you for a great first week back Falcons.
Have a lovely weekend!
Miss Hamilton :)
