Spring Term 1 Week 2
Lots of amazing learning in Falcons!
In Maths, we continued to practise numbers to 20. The children have been developing their understanding of tens and ones, helping them to see how numbers are made. They also practised estimating numbers on a number line and began adding by counting using a number line.

In English, we explored the book Once Upon a Raindrop. The children thought carefully about what the story was about and shared why they liked it. They wrote about their favourite part of the book, explaining their reasons clearly. We also learnt about rhyming words, identifying where the rhymes appear in the story. The children then worked in groups to think of their own rhyming words linked to different types of weather, before writing these independently in their books.

In RE, we have been learning about inclusion and what it means to be inclusive. The children shared examples of how they have been inclusive before and acted out different scenarios. They then performed these to the rest of the class, showing great empathy, confidence, and understanding.

We also started an exciting new Science topic all about animals. The children enjoyed organising animals into different groups and naming animals they already know. This sparked lots of curiosity and discussion.

In Geography, we learnt about the continents of the world. The children learnt a fun song to help them remember the continents and then had a go at labelling them on a map.
Thank you for another great week Falcons!
Have a lovely weekend.
