Summer Term 1 Week 4
Lots of great outdoor learning!
In English, we have been learning how to make our sentences more exciting. We used expanded noun phrases to add extra detail and conjunctions to make our sentences longer. Our learning about nouns and adjectives last week helped us with this! We worked hard to improve our writing and loved sharing our ideas with the class.

In Maths, we have started our new multiplication and division unit. We have been learning about equal and unequal groups by sorting objects and counting carefully. We enjoyed using practical resources to help us understand our learning.
In Science, we explored different types of trees and became leaf detectives on a leaf hunt around the school grounds. We looked closely at the shapes, colours and sizes of leaves and talked about which trees they might belong to.

We have also loved using the iPads this week to create algorithms on Scratch Jr. We enjoyed giving instructions to make our characters move and learned how important it is to follow steps in the correct order.

This week we celebrated David Attenborough’s 100th birthday! We completed lots of exciting activities including writing birthday cards, designing cakes and drawing, talking and reading about our favourite animals. We had so much fun learning about the wonderful world of nature and wildlife.
Have a lovely weekend.
