Summer Term 2 Week 2

We have been experimenting with different ways to join!

In Design and Technology, we have been experimenting with different ways to join materials together. We explored techniques such as tying, taping, sticking, slotting and making braces, along with many others. We then used these skills to create beautiful crowns inspired by Queen Elizabeth II. We can't wait to show them off during our class assembly!

In English, we have been writing our own parts of The Wild Robot. We used expanded noun phrases to describe the setting and characters and explained what happened when the mystery box landed on the island. We have loved using our imaginations and creating exciting ideas.

In Maths, we have been learning about halves. We discovered that halving means splitting something into two equal groups and practised finding halves of objects and shapes. We have also challenged ourselves by dividing larger numbers.

A huge well done to all the Falcons for completing the Phonics Screening Check this week. We are incredibly proud of the hard work and determination everyone has shown. Thank you to all of our families for supporting the children with their reading and phonics practice at home.

Looking ahead to next week, we are very excited for Sports Day on Wednesday and the Colour Run on Friday!

Thank you for another wonderful week.

Have a lovely weekend.

Miss Hamilton :)
