Autumn Term 1 Week 4
A busy and fun week in Falcons again!
In Drawing Club, we have been enjoying our adventures with Billy and the Beast. This week, we have been writing about the Beast and describing where he lives. The children have used some fantastic vocabulary to bring the Beast’s home to life and have loved sharing their imaginative ideas.
In maths, we have been comparing groups and numbers. We have been learning to use the correct mathematical language, including greater than, less than and equal to, and have been practising using the correct symbols. The children enjoyed challenging themselves to explain their thinking.
We discovered exactly where our school is and thought carefully about the village we live in. The children then created their own maps, thinking about the places and features they could include. They have enjoyed looking at our local area from a different perspective!

In R&W, we explored the question “Who made the world?” We learned about the Creation story and thought about the different things that were created. The children have been sharing some thoughtful ideas and showing their understanding through their work.

Our challenge time has been full of creativity this week! The children loved showing off what they have learnt through drawing, playing, creating and building. It has been wonderful to see them applying their learning independently and using their imaginations in so many different ways.
We had a special day celebrating European Languages! We were lucky enough to welcome three visitors who taught us a little bit of Spanish, German and French. The children loved learning new words and having a go at speaking in different languages.

We have continued to enjoy our phonics lessons and this week we had our very first Phonics Disco! The children had lots of fun dancing, singing and practising writing their tricky words.

We have been enjoying reading in Falcons and especially our reading buddy time with Year 6.
Well done Falcons on another great week!
