Spring 1 Week 2

This week Owls read Supertato. We learnt that Evil Pea was on the loose and our vegetables needed saving! WE got straight to work, making wanted posters, designing and building traps, and acting as police and detectives to catch the Evil Pea. The children loved throwing themselves into the drama and mystery of this week's story!

In our writing we wrote speech bubbles for the vegetables, thinking carefully about what they might be saying. The children were really creative with their ideas! We had "help me!", "Supertato I need you" and even "Evil pea has been really really bad".

In our maths, we measured different vegetables and ordered them from shortest to longest, using the terminology 'long', 'longer', 'longest', 'short', 'shorter', and 'shortest'.

In PE, the children began TAG Rugby and yoga! They did brilliantly in both sessions and learnt lots of new and exciting skills.

We spoke about healthy eating this week, sorting foods into 'healthy' and 'treat'. We spoke about what it was that made the healthy foods good for our bodies and how to make sure we were always having a balance (including treats!).

Well done to our star of the week Tom! Tom is such a good role model in Owls class - he always follows the school promises of working hard and being kind.

Have a wonderful weekend! :)
