The first week back!

It has been lovely to welcome the children back to school after half-term. They have started the summer term with smiles and lots of positivity!

In English this week we have read our new story called The Queens Hat. We wrote our own stories about losing something special and wrote some fantastic descriptive sentences about Buckingham Palace. Falcons learnt about the word onomatopoeia and how to use it for effect in a story.

Falcons really impressed me in Maths this week. We counted in 2s, 5s and 10s. The children were brilliant at noticing patterns. They all enjoyed practically creating equal groups with their partners and could discuss what they noticed.

Our question for history this term is 'Why was Queen Elizabeth II a significant monarch for the Commonwealth?' Falcons found out what a monarch is and their importance. The children loved making crowns and discussed what laws they would introduce if they were a king or queen.

Please read five times a week.

Please bring in water bottles each day, a sun hat and apply sun cream if necessary.

Have a fantastic weekend
