Autumn 1 Week 2

We have had another great week in year 3! The children have settled well into school routines and are working hard to keep our school promises - Be Ready, Be Respectful and Be Responsible.

In Maths, we have been continuing to look at place value and have been looking at how hundreds can be represented and have been using number lines to 100. We have also been practising our 5x tables.

In English, we have been looking at the key features in a diary entry and continuing to read our class book, Escape from Pompeii. We have also learnt what an expanded noun phrase and a synonym is. Ask the children if they can give you an example.

In RE, we are learning about Christianity and what The Trinity is to Christians. In History, we have been learning about the Celts and what Britain was like before the Romans invaded.

Star of the week

The star of the week is Hattie! Hattie always works hard in her lessons and is always helping others. Well done Hattie!

The children have brought home a copy of the words for the songs they will be singing at the Harvest service.  As they are in KS2 they are new songs for them to learn. We are practising at school, but it would be great if they could learn the words at home too. Thank you.

Please continue to encourage your child to read child 5x a week and children need to bring in their reading records on a Friday.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Miss Boddy
