PGL 2023
09/11/23
We had another great night's sleep. Some children had to be woken up, so they didn't miss their breakfasts! Our morning activities were Vertical Challenge and Buggy Building. The teamwork displayed by the groups in the Buggy Building was brilliant to see. Both groups made successful buggies and were able to ride them across the field.
After lunch, we went to our afternoon activities which were Giant Swing and Aeroball. Some children were apprehensive about going to the top of the giant swing on their first go, but they all showed amazing resilience by going higher on their next go.
Our evening activity tonight was a movie night. The children chose Toy Story 4. We are looking forward to our final activity tomorrow morning which will be Zip Wire! It has been a brilliant week at PGL and we can't wait to tell our families all about our adventures.

The children all slept so well in their rooms and were woken up at 6.30 for breakfast at 7am. After breakfast, we went to our first two activities which were Jacob's Ladder and Archery. Due to the rain, the logs on Jacob's Ladder were slippery and really tricky to climb but all children attempted to reach the top and challenged themselves more than they thought they could.
After a quick change out of our wet clothes and a tasty lunch, we went to our afternoon activities, which were the climbing wall and a sensory trail. The rain had stopped by this point, which made things easier. Navigating the sensory trail without using sight was hard, but we worked as a team and overcame all the obstacles.
We had a quiz as our evening activity and are looking forward to our last full day at PGL tomorrow.

We have arrived safely, and the weather has been perfect. Once we got settled into our rooms, we went to our first activity - Archery Tag. It took a bit of practice to learn how to fire the arrows accurately, but once we had perfected the technique, the battle commenced. Eagles Class were split into two groups and each team had a 5-spot target, with foam inserts that could be knocked out with arrows. There were also large, inflatable bunkers on opposite sides of the field, behind which they hid as they aimed at their targets. Here are a few pictures from our game:
We then had our first meal at PGL. It was delicious! There was lots to choose from and everyone found something they wanted. We ended our day with a game of Ambush in the woods. One group went to hide and the other group had to find them. It was such an exciting way to end our first day at PGL.
