Autumn 2 Week 1

It was wonderful to see all the children back after half-term. It sounds like they all had a fantastic break!

The children settled back into the class routines and have worked hard this week. In Maths we have been continuing our learning with adding and subtracting from 3-digits and considering which digit needs to change using our place value knowledge. In English, we have been learning how to edit our writing to make it even better. We have also learnt what a preposition is and how to use them in a sentence.

On Tuesday we had a great first session in yoga and felt very relaxed afterwards. In computing this week we have been talking about fake news and that not everything on the internet is true. Ask the children about spaghetti growing on trees!

We had a fantastic time at Forest school on Friday with Mr Summers. Unfortunately, we did not avoid the huge downpour, but it did not stop us having fun. We made rainbow patterns with leaves, danced in the rain, climbed trees and toasted marshmallows on a campfire. We can't wait for next week.

We have decided to start a school council and all children have been invited to put themselves forward. We will have two council members from each class. Those children who are interested need to give a short presentation on Monday and then the class will vote for who they would like to represent Ospreys. We have discussed this in class and I look forward to the presentations next week.

PE this term is hockey on Monday and Yoga on Tuesday. Forest school will be for another two weeks.

Please continue to read 5x a week with your child. They will be bringing spellings home on Monday.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Thank you for your support this week.

Miss Boddy :)
