Week 7 18/05/20
Monday 18th May 2020
Hello Hawks Class,
I don't know about you, but I enjoyed some lovely sunshine on Saturday, and what a change it made going for a walk somewhere different too, plus it was my birthday so I had a super weekend.
It was lovely speaking to so many of you on the telephone last week, I will call the rest of you this week before Friday and the half term holiday. I have created a gallery page, although I have been sharing some photographs in my mid week check ins, I thought it would be lovely to look back and see some of the lovely things you have all been up to. I've been so inspired by your beautiful art work, all your gardening, cooking and baking, so well done on learning new skills and working so hard to improve on others.
The MyMaths is continuing to go well, please read my comments as I have asked some of you to go back and have a second go at Q1 or Q2 and unfortunately not everyone is SAVING their work, you must do this before you click MARK IT.
You've loved the States of Matter science experiments, I have another one this week for you, involving balloons again, so those bulk buys will be put to good use. Have fun and I'm looking forward to hearing your findings.
The writing focus/tasks this week are significantly LESS. It is important you follow the sequence as my aim is for us to contribute to a whole class story based on "The Blue Umbrella." You will enjoy watching the fabulous Jane Considine and her short "Super Sentence Stackers," videos. Please could you word process your chosen chunk of the story and email it to me by Monday 25th May, and then I can use half term to edit all of your contributions and together hopefully we can write a whole class story to share, just as Jane does in her videos.
Don't forget to check out Picture News discussion board, "Who does outer space belong to?" you'll get a nice little surprise!

Have a great week, and thank you again for all your hard work, I look forward to us all working together to write a Hawks Class story, in "lockdown" based on The Blue Umbrella.
